It’s hard to believe we’re already wrapping up another school year at MTSU, but what a year it’s been at UKirk!
When we asked our Student Leadership Team to reflect on their favorite moments from the year, the highlights came quickly: our UCamp retreat at Natchez Trace State Park, Valentine’s Karaoke Night, weekly coffee on campus meetups, Thursday night discussions, and more. This year has been full of many highs and some lows. We are so thankful for every student who helped make UKirk such a meaningful space and made our trips, events, and discussions so memorable.
As the semester winds down, we want to take time to celebrate and send off three amazing graduating seniors. We are proud of them, inspired by them, and so excited to see what’s next on their journey. Take a moment to read about these incredible students:

🎓 Tahra Cartwright
Major:Â Data Science
Minor:Â Information Systems
Career Plans:Â Continuing her work as a paraprofessional with MNPS and pursuing a passion for helping others with financial literacy and retirement readiness through a Department of Treasury internship.
What UKirk has meant to Tahra:"Words cannot explain how grateful I am for UKirk. Despite being a non-traditional student, I was welcomed with open arms and love. I wasn’t able to really feel at home until I found UKirk. All the lovely and friendly faces, the great food and community. Truly a blessing!"

🎓 Kitty Johnson
Major:Â Biology
Minor:Â English
Future Plans: Returning to MTSU this fall to pursue a master’s degree in biology.
What UKirk has meant to Kitty:"I loved having a community at UKirk. It really helped me feel like I belonged to a group of nice people."

🎓 Alyssa Williams
Majors:Â Spanish and Journalism
Future Plans:Â Heading to law school at UT Knoxville, and will focus on intellectual property law.
What UKirk has meant to Alyssa:"UKirk helped me reconnect with my faith and relationship with Jesus. In recent years, the church has become an unwelcoming place for marginalized communities, and UKirk showed me that it was possible to be queer and Christian at the same time. No one gets to define my relationship with God but me."
To our graduates—thank you. You have helped shape UKirk into a more welcoming, faithful, and fun community. While we're only saying "bye for now" to two of you, we know each of you will continue making a meaningful impact where you end up next. We’re cheering you on every step of the way!
Friends of UKirk, please keep our graduates and all of our students in your thoughts and prayers as they step out of their usual school routines and into the summer months, whatever that may hold for them. We’ll continue sharing monthly UKirk Updates throughout the summer and into the next school year! Stay tuned to learn more about what’s happening at UKirk and how you can stay connected and get involved.
Thanks,
Rev. Micah Watson
